Real science. Real students. Real laughter.

Hi, I’m Dr. Morey-Proctor

Before teaching, I was a professional researcher and engineer — I’ve managed experiments at world-class facilities, optimized manufacturing processes, and led teams that solved messy real-world problems. Now I bring that same curiosity and collaboration into the classroom, where the experiments talk back and like ninja turtles (I also like ninja turtles).

My teaching is grounded in cognitive constructivism and Universal Design for Learning (UDL) — meaning every student has the tools, access, and agency to build understanding in their own way. I’m also a firm believer in collaboration — with colleagues, administrators, parents, and students themselves. Some of the most effective ideas in my classroom usually come from the people within it.

I teach science not just for the “aha” moments (though those are great), but because I believe it’s how we learn to make sense of our world. I want my students to grow into civically responsible humans — people who can interpret data, spot nonsense, and use evidence to make rational, ethical choices.

I bring the depth of a researcher, the adaptability of an engineer, and the sense of humor of someone who willingly teaches tweens. My classroom is a space where curiosity, accessibility, and a bit of chaos coexist beautifully — and where science is just as much about questions as answers.

Great teaching is a team sport — and I play well with others.

I’m collaborative to my core.
I love co-planning labs, tying lessons across subjects, nerding out with math teachers, and supporting the music department.

My classroom runs on curiosity, structure, and kindness

Students know where we’re going, how we’ll get there, and that they belong in the process.
